Husband's birthday plans ruined after family tragedy stops him from getting the cat of his dreams, until a pregnant stray grants him a kitty gift anyway

A pregnant stray is exactly what this guy needs after his birthday fumble. Birthdays have so much expectation on them, and when they don't go according to plan, it could feel like the whole universe is against you. Sometimes it's better not to plan anything at all, but in the story below, the cat distribution system didn't let the change of plans stop anything.

You probably know someone who's a "birthday person." They're the people who decide their birthday is a whole week or month rather than a day. Honestly, it kind of makes sense. As we get older, our lives and friends and families might drift in different areas and arenas, and it can be grueling to try to plan for many adults to get together and do something to celebrate. It sort of makes sense to have a birthday celebration for family, then another for friends, and another for coworkers, etc. But in the story below, there was just one plan. The husband really wanted a 2nd cat for his birthday, and his wife promised him such. They even contacted their local fostering agency and had an appointment scheduled at Petsmart. Then everything fell apart. His wife's brother passed away tragically and unexpectedly a few days before his birthday, and so they would potentially have to travel for the funeral, and couldn't commit to the cat adoption plans anymore.

But that's when the fates of the cat distribution system had something to say about it. It's known that if someone wants a cat and puts their wish out into the world, it just happens. So not long after the passing, they found out her cousin and his long time girlfriend adopted a cat a few months prior, and they were told the cat was fixed. Well, not only was that not true, but she was pregnant! She had a litter of 5 kittens on his birthday. If you didn't know already, Trojan cat means that a cat is pregnant but no one knows. They needed to get some of the kittens off their hands, so of course the couple who wanted a cat in the first place took the 5th kitten, the runt of the litter. He's a perfectly healthy boy who likes to cuddle and sit on laps. They named him Gus, and he's just adorable.
